Scan Lenses

Achromatic scanning lenses are designed for multi-band applications, effectively correcting chromatic aberration to achieve high-quality multi-wavelength laser scanning imaging. They are widely used in visible-light applications such as confocal microscopy, bioimaging, and optogenetics. LENSTEK offers products including Achromatic Scan Lenses for Visible Light, Two-Photon Scan Lenses, and Multiphoton Scan Lenses.

For visible-light applications such as confocal imaging systems, LENSTEK provides two models: CLS-SL and SL50-CLS2. The SL50-CLS2 supports a broad spectral range from 450 to 1100 nm, making it suitable for multiphoton microscopy and visible excitation applications. For two-photon microscopy systems, the SL50-2P2 (680–1300 nm) is recommended, while the SL50-3P (800–1800 nm) model is suitable for three-photon applications.

The CLS-SL scanning lens features a focal length of 70 mm and is specifically designed for point-by-point laser scanning imaging. It is coated with an anti-reflection coating optimized for the visible spectrum (400–750 nm). When the operating band is extended to the near-infrared, the CLS2 variant offers broad-band achromatic performance from 370 nm to 1100 nm. This lens is intended for use in confocal laser scanning microscopy and is equipped with SM2 (2.035"-40) external threads on both ends, facilitating easy integration into custom laser scanning systems. Despite its symmetric housing, the lens is not bi-directional and must be used in an upright orientation (engraving facing upward), with the laser beam entering from the top. LENSTEK’s telecentric scanning lenses are designed for advanced laser scanning imaging applications such as optical coherence tomography (OCT), confocal laser scanning microscopy, and multiphoton imaging.

By accepting incident beams at various angles, LENSTEK scanning lenses provide a flat image plane and maintain low distortion in spot size, enabling focal scanning across the entire field of view by simply varying the incident angle. Their exceptionally low f-theta distortion delivers geometrically corrected scanned images, significantly reducing post-processing burdens. Covering a broad wavelength range from visible to near-infrared, these scanning lenses are available with multiple effective focal lengths, working distances, and scan angles. Select models support fields of view equal to or larger than 18 × 18 mm², and all products feature broadband anti-reflection (AR) coatings to minimize optical reflection losses.
